Do Signs Make a Difference?

Do Signs Make a Difference?

Do Signs make a difference?

We that ride motorcycles are fully aware when cars do not pay attention to signs.  We see and hear of cars that run stop signs, red lights, and don’t yield or change lanes without looking or signaling.  The result can be deadly to a motorcyclist.  That is why, when I ride, my attitude is that everyone is totally clueless and totally unaware or maybe even unconcerned with me.  So with this in mind, I ride very defensively and very alert to my surroundings.

In my office I have several signs and quotes I have collected from various sources.  I display them to remind myself to take notice so as to make life easier.  Let me share some with you and please feel free to copy them for your home or office.

Here are a few funny ones for us men.

  • Behind every angry woman stands a man who has absolutely no idea what he did wrong.
  • Life is short.  Smile while you still have teeth.
  • A wise man once said nothing.

These are some that I keep in the forefront of my mind.

  • Never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life.
  • Don’t worry if someone does not like you.  Most people are struggling to like themselves!
  • A lie doesn’t become truth, wrong doesn’t become right, and evil doesn’t become good just because a majority accepts it.
  • What is popular is not always right and what is right is not always popular.
  • Setting Goals: S.M.A.R.T. Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Reasonable and Time-targeted.
  • B4 U Speak: T.H.I.N.K.  Is it True, Helpful, Inspiring, Necessary, and Kind?
  • Don’t prioritize your schedule; instead, schedule your priorities.

This next one is my favorite.

  • I have great worth, apart from my performance, because Christ gave His life for me, and therefore, imparted great value to me.  I am deeply loved, fully pleasing, totally forgiven, accepted, and complete in Christ.

Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sin at the cross and then gave us so much more in regard to life.  My self worth was under the formula of:  Self-worth = performance and others opinion.  Now, I am a new creature in Christ.  He has made everything new.  The old has passed away, 2 Cor. 5:17.  Jesus Christ has not only made a way for us to be in God’s presence, by trusting in Him alone for our eternal life, but also grants to us an abundant life, now, while we take our journey through life.

During this time of quarantine why not take extra time to investigate what Jesus Christ has done for you.  Take a pad of paper and read the books of Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians and Colossians and write down all the things made possible for us through Christ.  Before long you will have many positive things to focus on while we move forward through this time of crisis.  Be safe and stay healthy.  Praying for you.  Pastor Mike.
