In Remembrance of Me Luke 22:14-20
Remember what we were.
Without Strength Romans 5:6
▪ For when we were still without strength. In due time Christ died for us (KJV)
▪ For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
▪ Ungodly Romans 5:6
▪ For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. (NASB)
▪ When while we were still week, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. (EST)
▪ Sinners: Romans 5:8,3,10,23
▪ But God, demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners. Christ died for us.
▪ 3:10 As it is written. There are none righteous, not even one…
▪ 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
▪ Enemies: Romans 5:10
▪ For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more.
▪ Having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His Hand.
Remember what Christ did for us.
▪ Died for us: Romans 5:6-8
▪ For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ Died for the ungodly. (NASB)
▪ But God demonstrates His own love toward us. In that while we were yet sinners. Christ Died for us.
▪ He didn’t have to: He Wanted To. John 10:11-18
▪ I am the good shepherd, the good shepherd lays down hi life for the sheep.
▪ No one has taken it away from Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it again.
▪ He gave His Life: 1 Timothy 2:5,6
▪ For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who
Gave Himself a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time.
▪ Justified us. (To declare or pronounce to be righteous.)
▪ This we could never do Titus 3:5-7.
▪ He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to his mercy,
By the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit. Whom He poured out upon us richly through Spirit. Whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior so that being justified by the hope of eternal life.
▪ Justified by faith; Romans 5:9; Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
▪ Because of justification I am completely forgiven by and fully pleasing to God. I no longer have to fear failure.
▪ Reconciled us Romans 5:10-11
▪ For if while we were yet enemies we were reconciled to God through he death of His Son, much more having been reconciled. We shall be saved by His life.
▪ Because of reconciliation I am totally accepted by God. I no longer have to fear rejection.

Now we can appreciate what Christ has made possible for us to have.
What we have or can have.
Peace – Romans 5:1
▪ Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
▪ Philippians 4:7; Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.
His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you love in Jesus Christ.
▪ Access grace – Romans 5:2 Through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into grace…
▪ Hope. Romans 5:2b In which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.
▪ Hebrews 6:19; This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.
▪ Holy Spirit Romans 5:5 And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
▪ Ephesians 1:13-14; In Him, you also after listening to the message of the truth, the gospel of you8r salvation, having also believed, you were sealed in him with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is given as a pledge of our inheritance.
What we will have:
▪ Salvation from the wrath to come, Romans 5:9
▪ Much more than, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through him.
▪ 1 Thess. 1:10 and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the deeds, that is Jesus, who rescue us from the wrath to come.
▪ 1 Thess. 5:9 For God has not destined us for wrath but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
▪ Eternity saved through His life. Romans 6:23
▪ For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Luke 22:14-20
