Philippine Living Christmas Tree Report
Greetings from beautiful Word of Life Camp in Calauan! Our ministry team arrived at 11:30 PM Tuesday night (local time). We flew on Continental Airlines from Newark. The flight was pleasant, except for the fact that the Newark-Hong Kong flight is about as long as a 777 can stay airborne - almost 16 hours! From Hong Kong it was a short flight to Manila, and here we are! It was wonderful to see the familiar faces of John Fogle and Jonel Arcedera waiting for us at the airport. It was more wonderful to get to our rooms after 24 hours of travel!
Our main objective for this trip is to help the missionaries and students from Word of Life perform their first Living Christmas Tree evangelistic outreach. The tree is built and decorated, but without lights. That's where we come in. All of the lights that were so carefully packed by our
members made it safely here. Not one arrived broken! This morning, our team along with Word of Life staff and students screwed in all of the bulbs, and fastened the lights to the tree. Final connections were being checked before I left to send this website update. Pray that all of the technology would work as well here as it does in NJ.
The Lord is using Faith Bible Church to reach hundreds of Philipino's with the gospel! Much work has already been accomplished for the LCT. The staff here is expecting hundreds to attend the Friday, Saturday and Sunday night performances.
Please pray with us for the following requests:
- the salvation of many souls through the music, drama and preaching
- spiritual power for our missionary, Jonel Arcedera as he concludes the program each night with a clear presentation of the gospel and an invitation for people to trust Christ
- safety of those in the LCT
- physical strength and good health for our team
- our missionaries John and Dawn Fogle and their family
- WOL Philippines director Mike Foster, as soon undergoes cancer treatment
- that our time here would encourage our missionaries, as well as the staff and students.
- that our ministry here would encourage our hearts toward further missionary partnerships for the cause of the gospel
- for the Lord to save many through our Living Christmas Tree presentation of "Christmas Shoes" on December 17, 18 and 19
